Air France-KLM establish ‘extensive codeshare’ with IndiGo

India’s leading low-cost carrier, Indiago and Air France-KLM have established an extensive code share agreement from February 2022, an official statement said on Thursday.

With this agreement, Customers of Air France and KLM will have access to 25 new Indian destinations.

Air France and KLM already serve 4 destinations in India: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru from their respective hubs in Paris and Amsterdam.

On departure from the Indian provinces, Air France and KLM will open up their global network of over 250 destinations to IndiGo customers, with more than 120 destinations in Europe and about 50 in the Americas.

The new cooperation will start in February 2022. However, this will be subject to government approval.

Recently, InidGo has also signed a codeshare with American Airlines. IndiGo will place American code on 29 of IndiGo’s domestic routes in India, providing a convenient option for American Airlines customers arriving on the carrier’s new Bengaluru (BLR) and Delhi (DEL), India, flights.

A codeshare agreement, also known as codeshare, is a business arrangement, common in the aviation industry, in which two or more airlines publish and market the same flight under their own airline designator and flight number as part of their published timetable or schedule.
