Air India Cancels Its U.K Flights

Indian national carrier Air India on Wednesday announced that it has cancelled all flights between India and UK (United Kingdom)from 24th to 30th April. The decision came immediately after the U.K government imposed restrictions for Indian travelers due to the alarming second wave of Covid-19 in the country.

The United Kingdom had put India on the ‘red list’ hours after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson cancelled his visit to India. The UK also banned all arrivals from India except for the UK or Irish nationals.

The following flights of Air India scheduled between stands cancelled.

  • AI131/AI130 Mumbai-London-Mumbai
  • AI161/AI162 Delhi-London-Delhi
  • AI131/AI178 Mumbai-London- Bengaluru
  • AI177/AI130 Bengaluru-London- Mumbai

“Passengers who were to travel between India and UK may kindly note that in view of recent restrictions announced by UK, flights from/to UK stand cancelled from 24th to 30th April ’21. Further updates regarding rescheduling, refunds & waivers will be informed shortly.” Air India Twitted.

 

The airline also said that they are in the process to schedule one weekly flight to the UK from Delhi and Mumbai between 24th to 30th April ’21.
