Ananda Madirasana and Shashankasana to Improve Concentration

Ananda Madirasana and Shashankasana are important yoga postures which help in enhancing concentration and attention. Both these asanas require the practitioner to concentrate on various aspects at each step and subsequently helps in improving concentration and mindfulness.

Ananda Madirasana

  1. Sit down and stretch your legs, keeping the backbone erect.
  2. Bend both your legs and keep them right under your buttocks to form Vajrasana.
  3. Keep the palms under the buttocks with the backbone straight and erect. Close your eyes and remain in this position as long as you can. Be aware of your internal stillness and subsequently with the universal silence. Make sure that breathing is slow and full.

Shashankasana

  1. Sit down and stretch your legs, keeping the backbone erect.
  2. Bend both your legs and keep them right under your buttocks to form Vajrasana.
  3. Raise both hands above your head and breathe in.
  4. Breathe out and bend forward till the forehead and palms touch the floor. Allow the elbows to relax and tire. Remain in this position for some time and come back with a normal breath.
