China fears of second wave of covid disease, Over 1,200 Flights Cancelled

With the fears of second wave of infections, Beijing airports cancelled more than 1,200 flights and closed schools in the capital. After registering 31 new cases on Wednesday officials have asked the residents to not to leave Beijing.

According to report officials have hurried to control the new wave of covid -19 outbreak which this time is believed to be emerged from Xinfadi wholesale food market in Beijing.

It is also reported that tens of thousands people who reside in the new virus cluster had undergone testing and almost 30 residential compounds in the city were under lockdown.

According to the state-run People’s Daily at least 1,255 scheduled flights were cancelled Wednesday morning, enforced a travel ban for residents of “medium- or high-risk” areas of the city and asked other residents to take nucleic acid tests in order to leave Beijing.

Meanwhile, several other provinces,where schools have been closed and online classes restarted, have started quarantining passengers from Beijing .

“The epidemic situation in the capital is extremely severe,” Beijing city spokesman Xu Hejian warned Tuesday.

After detecting new 137 infections over the last six days officials have sealed 11 markets and disinfected thousands of food and beverage businesses in Beijing.
