Chinese Rapid Test Kits on the way
Rapid test kits can be a turning point in the fight against coronavirus spread
A consignment of 5,50,000 rapid antibody testing kits and 100,000 RNA extraction kits from china will set to reach in India today and according to the latest press meet conducted by Health Ministry officials the kits will be immediately dispatched to hotspot areas of the country. The rapid testing kit have been already dispatched from Guangzhou Airport in China.
“Rapid Antibody Testing Kits (first lot of 3 lakh from Guangzhou Wondfo and 2.5 lakh from Zhuhai Livzon) and RNA Extraction Kits (1 lakh from MGI Shenzhen), all custom cleared late last night have left this morning for India,” sources told ANI.
“In total, 6.5 lakh kits are its way; they should reach today. Our Embassy in Beijing and Consulate in Guangzhou played a key role,” they added.
India’s ambassador to China, Vikram Misri, also tweeted the same saying medical kits, including Rapid Antibody Tests and RNA Extraction Kits have been despatched from Guangzhou to India.

The rapid testing in hotspots is believed to be a turning point for India in containing the spread of Covid -19 as it can detect more infected and send them to quarantine. Earlier, many including Congress President Rahul Gandhi were also emphasized the need for conducting more tests in order to make the system more effective in fighting with coronavirus spread.
