DGCA Issues New Guidelines For International Travelers Arriving In India: Details Here
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Tuesday released new guidelines for international travelers, in accordance with the revised guidelines for international arrivals issued by the Indian Health Ministry.
These new rules will come into force from December 1 on wards and will continue in place till further orders.

Guidelines For International Arrivals
WHO has declared SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529 named Omicron as Variant of Concern. Accordingly, the International travel guidelines have been revised by MoHFW on 28.11.21 and are available on its website. In this regard, all concerned are directed to ensure as under:
- That the self-declaration form on Air Suvidha Portal, which has the travel history of the last 14 days of all international travelers arriving in India, is filled completely before boarding;
- The eventual destination with a detailed address should be completely filled in. The complete address is required in order to ensure follow up and contact tracing purposes;
- It is ensured that details (name, contact details, address) of all travelers are shared with respective State/UT governments, Bureau of Immigration, APHOs, NCDC (Email: [email protected]and [email protected]), and this Ministry at DM Cell (Email: [email protected]) and Control Room (Email: [email protected]) for further follow up;4.
- Separate holding area (while they are waiting for their RT-PCR test results), maybe demarcated for the passengers coming from At-Risk countries in each airport, with proper amenities for passengers, ensuring that COVID Appropriate Behavior is strictly followed including protocols to avoid congestion. Signages may be put up at prominent places and volunteers may be placed to guide the passengers to prevent any chaos;
- Airlines shall put in place a proper randomization process for testing about 5% of the passengers in flight on arrival. Announcements as to the seat numbers selected through the randomization process may be made in the flight itself so that the passengers are prepared;
- All incoming passengers accordingly may be advised while filling up the Air Suvidha portal that they should plan their on wards journey keeping in mind the stay at the airport to obtain the test results. They should also be prepared for movement to state govt. identified quarantine facilities if they test positive at the airport;
- Additional RT-PCR facilities, as required, may also be set up at all airports. This is for strict adherence and compliance by all concerned.
