Etihad Plans More Flights to India, Europe, North America and Australia From August
Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways plans to restart more flights to Middle East, North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
In India, the airline flies to Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram. The other cities include Washington DC,Istanbul,the Seychelles Amman, Baku, Beirut, Belgrade, Cairo, Casablanca, Dusseldorf, Male, Manchester, Moscow, Munich, Muscat, Kuwait, Rabat, Riyadh and Rome.
The airline plans to operate flights to 58 destinations worldwide, throughout July and August, subject to re-opening of individual markets.
“We are delighted to announce the gradual expansion of normal scheduled services to more cities across our global network. The easing of restrictions on travel to and from the UAE is an important first step and a great development for Abu Dhabi. By August, we aim to operate approximately 45 per cent of our pre-Covid capacity,” said Tony Douglas, chief executive at Etihad Aviation Group.
“While we have continued to operate a schedule of special passenger, cargo and humanitarian flights over the last few months, the priority is now to build the network back up on markets that have opened up, and to provide a secure and hygienic flying environment across the entire guest journey,” Douglas added.
Etihad Airways on Sunday had announced that they would resume flights to 29 destinations from July 1 including North America,Australia and Europe.
The services would be resumed between July 1 to 15, the airlines said, adding it was interacting with the UAE government to rise its network of destinations from July 16.
Other destinations include Narita and Manila.
