Kareena and Malaika hail delicious Kerala curry

Bollywood divas, Kareena Kapoor and Malaika Arora have nailed the traditional Kerala ‘Prawn Mango Drumsticks Curry’ with an awe. After relishing this curry, both have thanked chef Suresh Pillai for sharing the recipe on social media.

It was Malaika’s mother Joyce Arora, who is a Keralite by ethnicity, prepared this curry according to the recipe.

Taking to Instagram, Malaika wrote she savored every ounce of the curry which was prepared using Suresh Pillai’s recipe.

Kareena Kapoor also hailed the cuisine.

Ingredients

Medium Prawns – 500gm
Remove the shell, heads and clean and keep aside. deveined the prawn.

For the stock
In a clay pot heat coconut oil add prawn head and shells, curry leaves and pinch of Turmeric half litter water and bring to boil on slow heat.

Curry paste
Grated coconut – 200gm
Shallots -4
Kashmiri Chilly powder -15gm
Coriander powder- 10gm
Roasted fenugreek powder- 2gm
Turmeric powder- 3gm
In a Mixer grinder blend all the ingredients with enough water and make a fine paste.

Drumsticks cut into lengthy piece -1
Green Mango sliced – 1
Green chillies slitted -3
Curry leaves – few
Sea salt to taste

How to make
Remove the shell and head from the stock add the drumsticks and cook for 5 minutes add green Mango, chillies, cleaned prawns, salt and curry leaves. When Prawns colour turned to pink add the curry paste and enough water and slow cook for 5 minutes. Rest the curry for 30 minutes and check the seasoning. Enjoy the prawn curry with boiled Rice.
