Maharashtra Revises Guidelines For All Passengers Arriving From UAE, ‘At Risk’ Countries — Details

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), of Maharashtra on Tuesday announced revised guidelines for international passengers arriving from UAE, ‘At Risk’ countries at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) Mumbai.

According to the latest rules, all international passengers will have to undergo a mandatory rapid RT-PCR test on arrival.

If passengers are found negative they will be allowed to leave and stay under 7-day home quarantine. However, those found positive will have to undergo a mandatory institutional quarantine.

All international passengers coming from at-risk, high-risk countries & UAE has to go through rapid RT-PCR or any other tests. The rest of the passengers who are fully vaccinated need not go for the test unless asked to do so by authorities, Said Kiran Dighavkar, AMC, G North ward, BMC.

Recent Modified Guidelines for international travelers at Mumbai International Airport: Dt. 04.01.22.

• Step 1: All international passengers coming from at-risk & high-risk countries & UAE will be asked to take the Rapid RTPCR test.
• Step 2: If positive he/she will ask to take routine RTPCR n ask to wait for results.
• Step 3: If negative allowed to go for home quarantined for next 7 days
• Step 4: If RTPCR positive a) symptomatic – seven hills (FOC) or Bombay hospital/Breach Candy hospital (Paid) b) asymptomatic – BKC or Kanjur Jumbo Centre (FOC) or Private Hotel of choice of hotel listed along with ( Paid )

Maharashtra New Rules For International Arrivals

• All international passengers who tests positive for Rapid RT PCR Test shall undergo routine RT PCR test at the Airport itself.
• If this sample is also positive then the collected sample for routine RT — PCR shall be sent immediately for Genome Sequencing and the passenger shall be directed for Institutional Quarantine at the respective facility.
• If this sample is negative then the passenger shall be allowed to go home for mandatory home quarantine for a total period of 7 days.
• All symptomatic passengers testing positive in Airport shall be admitted at Seven Hills Hospital. Any such patient preferring admission in a private hospital shall be transferred to Bombay Hospital or Breach Candy Hospital.
• All asymptomatic passengers testing positive at the Airport shall be admitted to BKC or Kanjurmarg Jumbo Facility. Any such patient preferring admission in a private facility shall be transferred to hotels linked with the government.
• All asymptomatic passengers already admitted in Bombay Hospital and Breach Candy Hospital shall be shifted to the hotels short listed by the government.
• The payment and charges of the hotel will be the responsibility of the concerned positive reported passengers.
