Ministry of AYUSH successfully organized the  International Conference on Yoga

With a view of creating greater awareness regarding the benefits of Yoga in the public health sector, the Ministry of AYUSH successfully organized an International Conference on Yoga with the theme “Yoga for Public Health” on 12-13 November 2018 at the Kala Academy, Goa. The conference witnessed the auspicious presence of   Mridula Sinha (the Governor of Goa) , Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (Founder-The Art of Living International Centre, Bangalore), Shripad Naik ( Minister of State, Ministry of AYUSH), Vadiya Rajesh Kotecha, (Secretary AYUSH), Dr. H.R. Nagendra, (Chancellor, SVYAS), Pramod Kumar Pathak (Additional Secretary, AYUSH),  Kamlesh D Patel (President, Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Hyderabad), PN Ranjit Kumar (Joint Secretary, AYUSH) and many other dignitaries.

The event was attended by Senior Officers of the Ministry of AYUSH, Yoga Gurus, Yoga Masters, Yoga enthusiasts and delegates along with the participants from various Yoga and Ayurveda universities and colleges across the country including the students of MDNIY. Moreover, there were quite a lot of participants from abroad too.

The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga played an important role in successful organization of the event under the leadership of Dr. I V Basavaraddi, Director MDNIY.
