Natural Remedies to cure Chicken Pox

Chickenpox, also known as varicella, is a highly contagious disease caused by varicella zoster virus (VZV) infection. The possible way of getting rid of this illness is avoiding  favorable circumstances helping the virus grow and spread.

Many measures can be taken against spread of this illness. The major ones include avoiding close contact with the infected, foods that could reduce immunity and abstaining from the circumstances wherein sunrays and heat directly hitting the  body.

It is important to give special care for children, women and people who have lower immunity as they are easily affected.  Abstain from hot, spicy, sour and non-vegetarian foods, especially chicken items, cashew nut, soft drinks etc. Moreover, overeating, exposure  to sunrays are some of the habits that could be dangerous as in this condition the virus can spread fast.

Symptoms

The preliminary symptoms include cold and fever, sour throat, cough and head ache.  Within three days, once contracted, red spots will appear all over the body and there will be rashes with itching. Then bubbles will start appearing on the body.

In  the beginning i.e., in the first 5 to 7 days, bubbles will grow all over the body and there after start cracking  and become patches on the skin. In other words, the complications of chickenpox would possibly linger for 10 days and in these days it could infect other people. Therefore, utmost care should be given.

It is imperative to keep the patient in isolation and his/her contact, saliva, sneeze, clothes, utensils should be avoided. First few days and last days in which symptoms remain are very crucial as the virus is highly contagious in these days. Once contracted, the disease is found not repeating. Hence it is better if these people take care of new patients.

Once the symptoms and fever are over, the patient can take  a cold or steam shower, using water boiled with neem leaves in it. It is important not to use soap and for the wellness of eyes, it is recommended to use eye drops.

There is no need for Ayurveda therapy if the symptoms like pox in eyes, dizziness and suffocation etc. do not persist.
