New Coronavirus variant with 34 mutations found in Tanzania

Despite getting vaccination, the reports of finding new mutant of coronavirus are creating more worries among people across the world.

Now, it is reported that coronavirus variant which has acquired at least 34 mutations have been identified in Tanzania.

According to reports, the new found variant has been detected in three passengers who travelled from Tanzania to Angola in mid-February.

Even though no more cases have been reported since then, the variant has garnered scientific interest for its array of variants, including ones seen in the United Kingdom, South Africa and Manaus variants, a report by Wion said.

The “variant of interest” as it is known in scientific language was reported in a research paper awaiting peer review at the Universities of Oxford and Cape Town, the Angola Ministry of Health along with Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with research body KRISP, the report said.

The scientists believe that the newly found virus may have infected more than three people .
