Qatar Airways Adds Special Flights To India and USA
Qatar Airways has decided to add more special flights to 11 destinations in India from now until October 24.
These destinations are Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram, according to information available on the Qatar Airways website as well as in a marketing email sent by the airline, reports the Gulf Times.
Earlier, the Airways had announced 650 weekly flights to more than 85 destinations including Houston (three weekly flights started September 2 increasing to four weekly from September 15),Philadelphia (three weekly flights starting September 16),New York JFK (increased to double daily flights from September 1) etc.
The national carrier said people can book one-way or return flight tickets from Qatar to the 11 destinations in India in the said period. “Do not miss your chance to reach your destination of choice in India in all convenience during this limited period,” the email read.
“Throughout your journey, you can expect the highest standards of hygiene and the latest security measures, whether on board or at our state-of-art Hamad International Airport,” it continued.
“We recommend all passengers to abide by the regulations published by the government of their destination country before travelling,” the airline added.
Those eligible to travel to India are Indian nationals in Qatar, all Overseas Citizens of India cardholders holding Qatari passports, and Qatari nationals (including diplomats) holding a valid visa issued by an Indian mission in any category covered under the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines dated June 30.
Passengers travelling from Doha must register at the Indian embassy in Qatar.
On the other hand, entry into Qatar is permitted for Qatari nationals, their travelling companions, permanent residency card holders or residency permit holders who have re-entry pre-approval.
For details about the process of returning to Qatar and the quarantine measures in place, one has to visit the Qatari Ministry of Public Health website or Qatar Portal website.
“Please book your quarantine packages exclusively through Discover Qatar,” the airline advised on its website.
The requirements for those returning to Qatar are as follows:
* Returning passengers into Qatar are required to provide a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 96 hours prior to their flight departure from one of the authorised laboratories. Children below 12 years who are travelling with family members are exempted from the test.
* Completion and submission of the consent form at check-in along with the negative test result.
The India-Qatar air bubble transport arrangement has been extended until October 31 or until the resumption of scheduled services, whichever is earlier, the Indian embassy in Doha had said recently, the Gulf Times report added.
