UAE Temporarily Suspends Visa-on-arrival For Indian Passengers

Etihad Airways, UAE’s flagship carrier on Monday announced that the UAE  has temporarily suspended the Visa-on-arrival facility for Indian travelers who were in India for the past 14 days.

However, the airline has not disclosed the reason for the suspension.Instead, the airline said that it would soon inform the customers the reason for the suspension.

“The UAE authorities have decided to temporarily suspend the Visa-on-arrival facility for passengers who are arriving from or been in India in the past 14 days. We’re working to update our website, please keep an eye on https://bit.ly/TravelGuideEN  for the latest regulations,” the airline replied to a customer query.

Earlier, Etihad had announced that Indians with valid US visa,green card or residency of UK/EU were eligible for UAE visa on arrival.

At the same time, the UAE on Sunday announced that it would allow Indian passport holders, who have not been to the country in the last 14 days, to enter the country on tourist visas.

Besides India, the facility has been extended to Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Uganda, according to a media report on Sunday.
