WhatsApp’s New Feature Transforms Voice Messages to Text

Instant messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out a new feature that can transform voice messages into text, enabling users to read them. The new feature would help users decipher messages even when they are unable to hear the audio, WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo reports.

The company has already made the experimental version of the feature available in many countries on its Beta 2.24.15.55 version. This version supports multiple languages, including Hindi, Spanish, English, Russian, and Portuguese, the report said. According to the report, the transcription of voice messages will take place on the handset, eliminating the need to outsource to an external server.

The recently launched Meta AI chatbot on WhatsApp has garnered recognition for its utility.
